Customers have been attracted to the Acacia Energy pay as you go plans, but they have discovered that the Acacia Energy payment structure isn’t as cut and dry as they might have preferred. One reviewer explained the additional fees she encountered when using the Acacia Energy payment line.
She discovered that when she paid for her Acacia Energy account, “…it says no deposit pay as much as you want so I pay $20 they turn around and don't turn on my electricity I call they say all you have to pay $30 to get it started nowhere does it say that…”
She also found that her Acacia Energy online payment wasn’t covering as much as she had hoped. She explain that “…the 1st day I spent 90 kW per hour my average was $8,50 A-day. It has been 3 weeks and I have paid over $200 in my average is now up to $23 A-day but yet I'm still only using a 100 kW per hour how in the h*** does it go up…”

In the Acacia Energy review #1658294 on PissedConsumer, a single mother realized that she had spent far more on electricity than she budgeted for. She was asked to pay more than she had planned for after contacting customer service and feels that many of the Acacia Energy reviews online might not reflect the truth about the company.
“…The last time I mentioned I wanted to switch my service I noticed that I was suddenly asked to pay an additional $100 after just paying almost $130 "reconnect". The info you read online is F....A....K.....E.......”
3. What Is Acacia Energy?

According to the Acacia Energy group website, the company offers pay-as-you-go electricity plans to customers that don’t require a deposit, credit check or even identification. Unlike other electric companies in the deregulated market, they don’t require a long term contract either.

4. What Are Acacia Energy Rates?
In the deregulated energy marketplace in Texas, prices change quickly and Acacia Energy rates change right along with them. While numbers will change on a regular basis, the Acacia Energy price at the time of writing depended heavily on which of the plans you selected.
There is basic information about the various Acacia Energy plans on the company’s website including the description of the Acacia Energy prepaid payment design, but rates are not specifically mentioned. To find specific rates, you must visit the enrollment page of their website. There you can put in your zip code and see the rates available for various plans and Acacia Energy payment options.
At the time of writing, Acacia Energy rates varied from 13.8 cents per kilowatt to 14.3 cents per kilowatt. Some of the plans also offered free electricity for certain periods of time. The Acacia Energy free nights plan, for example, offers free electricity from 9 p.m. to 5:59 a.m.
Another PissedCustomer review mentions the Free Weekend plan from a customer perspective. He says that the website might say free weekends, but Acacia Energy rates don’t necessarily reflect the advertising. He claims “…This is BS they need to start letting people know that free weekends is not free they still charge and they shouldn't call it free weekends...”
5. How Do I Cancel Acacia Energy?
According to Powertchoose.org, there are no penalties for changing electricity providers nor should there be any additional costs when you make a switch unless you have broken. To change service providers, you simply choose a new provider and service should be continuous as the new company takes over.
In the Acacia Energy FAQs, the question of cancellation is answered according to the same terms as Powertochoose.org. The FAQs state that the Acacia Energy cancelations include the three business days for changing your mind about switching services.
The Acacia Energy cancellation policy has more details in the company’s Terms of Service. According to that page, you have until midnight on the third federal business day to change your mind, although this does not apply if you have requested a move-in service. If you are canceling your service during this time, you can call the Acacia Energy 24 hour customer service. The number is 1-866-302-3233.
Acacia Energy disconnect options also include canceling service after the initial three day period. If you have signed a contract and more than three business days have passed, you can call the Acacia Energy phone number to cancel. Be aware that if you are canceling during a contract, you may be liable for an early termination fee.
Acacia Energy disconnect options also allow you to cancel your contract without any additional charge within fourteen days of its expiration date. There are plans available through Acacia that do not have contracts and offer electricity on a month-to-month basis where this contract charge would also not apply.
If you would like to sign up with Acacia Energy LLC or speak with one of their customer service representatives, you can do so by visiting the company’s website or by calling the company at 1-866-302-3233. More information can be found on the Acacia Energy FAQs page.
