According to Great Value Vacations' Terms and Conditions, all payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. In addition, any bookings not covered by the company's Trip Cancellation Protection, are also non-refundable. Ticket purchases are non-refundable except for flights to/from the United States. That being said, customers can cancel vacations if the optional Trip Cancellation Protection package is purchased during the booking process. With cancellation protection, ticketed reservations will be available for a refund if they are canceled within 24 hours after the reservation is made. The reservation must also be made one week or more prior to a flight's departure. Stopovers are not allowed unless specified during the booking process.

5. Does Great Value Vacations Offer Travel Protection?

Great Value Vacations offers two kinds of travel protection. Great Value Vacations package booking includes two levels of protection. The Level 1 protection package, provided by TripMate, covers protects self-drive and customized bookings, which can be canceled up to 72 hours prior to departure for any reason.

Customers will receive a credit for future travel equaling the full amount paid, minus the cost of the Travel Protection Plan Cost and fees. Customers must rebook vacations using original air carriers at least 72 hours prior to the initial departure time and complete travel at least one year from the original booking date. Customers are advised to visit TripMate for further information.

The company's Level 2 protection package, provided by TripMate, covers travel on offered escorted vacations, golf, or cruise vacations. It must be purchased at time of booking. Customers will receive a credit for future travel equaling the full amount paid, minus the cost of the Travel Protection Plan Cost and fees for reasons such as death, sickness, injury or certain other covered reasons, which were not fully explained. One Great Value Vacations review on Pissed Consumer detailed the trouble encountered when a customer had to cancel a trip because of a natural disaster. The customer purchased travel protection and was only refunded $750 out of $2000 spent.

"...Please save yourself the HEADACHES AND HEARTACHES and do NOT book with Great Value Vacations!! My Husband and I paid over $2k for our trip to Ireland with included "Trip Protection" (ended up protecting us from NOTHING) and VIP car insurance..."
