Easter Baskets and How to Save on Pre-Easter Shopping?

In the United States Easter baskets are used for traditional holiday celebration. They are commonly filled with Easter eggs and different gifts like apparel, toys, sweets, etc. The Easter bunny which brings Easter baskets was introduced to America by German immigrants in the 18th century. Since then Easter baskets signify new life, rebirth and renewal.

Today, baskets of all shapes, sizes and colors are available at craft stores. You can fill them with plastic or paper grass and top with an abundant selection of Easter bunny gifts that you know the gift recipient will be pleased with. Or you can buy premade Easter baskets (there are ones for any taste and budget) and have them delivered to you. It couldn’t be easier.

Easter is a great time to invite close friends and relatives to your home and exchange presents. Furthermore, a lot of retailers are offloading different Easter supplies with up to 70% discounts. So, filling Easter baskets doesn’t have to empty your purse. Buying candies, food, apparel, gifts, etc. during sales can help you narrow down the costs of Easter.

Do not forget about coupons. Easter is coming and there are many great coupons to save on treats, chocolate bunnies, and eggs. Visit dollar stores since they usually offer a wide range of Easter-themed supplies, toys, and more. And shop ahead. Easter merchandise will go with substantial discounts on Monday following the holiday. Surely, this won’t help you this year, but you’ll be pleased to have it on Easter 2019.

Easter Sunday at a Church Service and at Home

Easter Sunday is a very important day for Christians in the United States. They celebrate Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead. Many churches hold special services on Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday.

If you want to visit a church on Easter, you’d rather go to St. Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC, the National Cathedral in Washington, DC or St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans being most famous for their Easter celebrations.

At home, you can prepare a tasty dinner and invite your friends and relatives. Special dishes for Easter springtime are baked ham, potato and vegetables. Another most demanding recipe is a hot cross bun. Actually, there are many interesting traditional Easter customs in the United States you can participate in.

Many people decorate Easter eggs with paint or dyes. It is also common to organize Easter egg hunts. Parents hide eggs throughout their homes and gardens. And children search for them on Easter morning.

Easter Egg Roll at the White House is the annual event that takes place every Monday after Easter at the South Lawn. The event is open for children up to 13 years old and their families. For the egg roll race, kids should push eggs with spoons through the grass. This tradition dates back to 1878.

This year the White House invites families to enjoy live entertainment, story time with celebrities, games and the traditional Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are required.
