1. How can I restore messages that already have been deleted on Letgo?

According to Letgo help center “messaging” section, deleting messages on your Letgo dashboard is a final action that cannot be reversed. However, if the other person sends you a new message the entire chat will reappear.

“Deleted chats are removed from your list of chats but will reappear if there is new activity in the conversation...”

2. How do I stop Letgo email notifications?

You can change your notification settings to allow and disallow push notifications, emails and search alert. The procedure varies slightly for iOS and Android apps.

Here are the steps for changing notification settings for each app as provided in the Letgo customer help center “Using Letgo” section.

On the IOS app

If you’re using an iPhone:

  • Tap the person icon in the lower right corner
  • Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner
  • Tap “Notifications”
  • Tap “Push Notifications”, “Email”, or “Search Alerts”
  • Choose a notification category
  • Toggle to turn each notification on (red) or off (gray)

On the Android app

If you’re using Android:

  • Tap the three bars in the upper left corner
  • Tap “My Profile”
  • Tap the gear icon in the upper right corner
  • Tap “Notifications”
  • Tap “Push Notifications”, “Email”, or “Search Alerts”
  • Toggle to turn each notification on (red) or off (gray)

3. Why was my product removed from the Letgo listings?

The Letgo help page cites two main reasons for having your listing removed: if it is a prohibited product, and if you post duplicate listings.

According to the Letgo Community guidelines page, prohibited items include adult content including pornography and adult toys, drugs and alcohol, animals, food and food-related products, services such as massage, consultations, and personal training among others, weapons, any dangerous items, gambling tickets, currencies and used cosmetics, and so on.

Letgo notes on the community guidelines page under the prohibited items section that although they have provided an elaborate list of prohibited items, the list is not exhaustive and they may remove any product they deem harmful to the Letgo community.

4. I can’t see my Letgo chats; how do I access them?

Letgo attributes the following reasons to you being unable to access your chats including:

  • “A known issue experienced by a small percentage of users that we're currently working to resolve
  • A temporary glitch (in this case, it will automatically be resolved in a short while with no action required)
  • A "stuck" notification from a conversation with someone you've just blocked
  • You may have received a push notification related to Letgo updates, together with a popup when you opened the app
  • You may have received a notification letting you know there has been new activity from buyers and sellers in your area”

Letgo FAQ page, under the “known issues” section then goes ahead to provide different solutions that you can try to access your chats.

  • From the list of chats, tap the three dots in the upper right corner and tap "Mark all as read"
  • Check if you're logged into this same account on another device or on the Letgo website as we don't support usage on multiple devices at once
  • You may have received this chat on another Letgo account that you are currently not signed into
  • Make sure you are using the latest version of the app as we are continually making fixes and improvements based on users' feedback
  • If you've tried everything else, contact us and we'll see if there's anything we can do to help solve your issue”

5. How do I report a scammer on Letgo?

Letgo provides a procedure to enable you to report anonymously scammers on the platform through the Letgo Android or iOS app. Once you have reported a suspicious user, Letgo will conduct investigations and take the appropriate action.

In case you report the Letgo scammer to the police and you require the user’s relevant information to facilitate police investigation, send an email to Letgo customer service team - info@letgo.com requesting the necessary information about that user.

According to the Letgo FAQ page, under the “Using Letgo” section, below is the standard procedure for reporting a fraudulent or offensive user.

  • “Go to the user's profile
  • Tap the three dots in the upper right corner
  • Select "Report User"
  • Choose one of the reasons and add an optional comment
  • Press send and we'll receive your report and look into it”

6. How can I delete my Letgo account?

To delete your Letgo account, log in and click on the “Tap support & bug reports” icon found at the bottom of the help page. You will be led to a contact us page. Under the Subject menu, select “delete/edit profile”.

On the message section, write a short note requesting the Letgo customer care team to permanently delete your account. If you are using the Letgo mobile app, fill the contact form indicating that you would like your account to be closed permanently.

7. How do I change my email address on the Letgo app?

The Letgo Help page, on “Your account” segment indicates that it is not possible for you to change your email address on the app or website at the moment.

“Please note:
… Changing your bio or your email address through the letgo website isn't possible at this time.”

Letgo has not given a clear reason as to why the user can’t change profile settings at the moment and when that functionality will be available again. Keep checking the Letgo help page and your profile for the availability of the email change functionality. The following steps are provided in the Letgo customer help center on how to change your profile settings:

Go to your profile

  • Tap the wheel icon
  • Change your photo, username, bio, location, email address or password
  • Save your changes”

8. How can I contact Letgo customer service?

The primary method for contacting the Letgo customer care team is through the contact us form. You can use the form to query and make requests on a number of issues including a deleted account or listing, difficulty with logging in, to report Letgo scammers, location issues etc.

Another option would be to send an email to info@letgo.com as indicated on the Terms of Service page. Also, you may contact Letgo customer service team via phone.

9. Why is my Letgo account blocked?

The Letgo system can block your account for various reasons. However, there are two most common reasons that could lead to your account being blocked according to the Letgo help page under “Your account”:

“ Posting items that are on the prohibited items list
Not following the Rules of Use that are outlined in our Terms & Conditions”

However, if you believe you have not violated Letgo terms and conditions, you can contact the customer care team to review your account.

“If you believe you have been mistakenly blocked, please contact us through the prompts that appear in the app so we can review your account and take appropriate action.”
