1. How to Get Hulu for Free?

If you want to try out the streaming app before committing to a subscription, you may be wondering if there is a way to get Hulu for free. The good news is there is a free Hulu trial.

According to Hulu Help Center, free trials for plans and add-ons can be changed, and they do not apply to some offerings, including Hulu (No Ads) and the Disney Bundle. As of the date of writing this article, Hulu offers different trial periods for different plans as follows:

  • Hulu (With Ads) - one month
  • Hulu (with Ads) + Live TV - 3 days.

The Free Hulu trial gives you access to thousands of shows and movies and available for new and eligible returning Hulu subscribers only.

To access the free trial, you need to sign up for a Hulu account and then click on “Start Your Free Trial.” Choose a preferred plan and follow the prompts to complete the sign up.

If you decide not to continue watching Hulu, you should cancel your subscription before the end of your trial period. Otherwise, once the free trial has lapsed, you will automatically be charged a subscription fee for your chosen plan.

How Much Is Hulu Without Ads?

If you are keen on Hulu without ads, you have two options: a basic and a bundle plan. These are Hulu (with no Ads) and the Disney Bundle Trio Premium. Hulu without ads plans cost $17.99 and $24.99 per month, respectively.

However, reviews indicate that some customers still get commercials despite paying a higher Hulu price to avoid ads. For example, in Hulu review #5704627, the customer expresses their frustration by asking:

Why do I pay extra for "commercial free" programming, but still have commercials?

How to Download on Hulu?

One of the most common customer questions is if it is possible to download on Hulu. You can download on Hulu if you have any of the No Ads plans and one of the supported mobile devices.

Here are the steps to download a movie or episode of a series via your Hulu account:

  1. Connect your mobile device to Wi-Fi or turn on cellular data to enable cellular downloading.
  2. Go to "Downloads" to see what is downloadable.
  3. Swipe through the content to identify what you would like to download.
  4. To download a movie, go to its details page and click on the download icon.
  5. On the other hand, for TV shows, select the episodes tab to see downloadable episodes. If an episode is available for online viewing, tap the download icon next to it.

The downloaded content will be readily available for your viewing when you are ready regardless of the profile used to download. You can filter the content from all profiles or a specific one.

You can access unwatched downloaded content for 30 days unless the movie or series expires from the streaming library. Once you start watching, it expires within 48 hours. However, you can renew your downloads once they have expired.

How to Cancel Hulu?

As evidenced in review #5563463, some users would like to cancel Hulu but have difficulty doing so. In the Hulu review, the customer explained that they did a 30-day free trial but were unable to cancel:

Unbelievable theres no way I can cancel my Hulu. Ive called him two times. they have no idea where my payment is going.

We researched the official website to find out how to cancel Hulu.

According to the Help Center pages, you can cancel or renew your Hulu subscription plan any time. You could also take a break for up to 12 weeks. The steps for canceling depend on whether you are billed directly through Hulu or a third party.

Here are the steps to cancel if you are billed through Hulu:

  1. Login to your Hulu account either on a computer or mobile device.
  2. Go to the Account page.
  3. Navigate to "Your Subscription" and select "Cancel."
  4. If presented with the option to "Pause Your Subscription," proceed to "Continue to Cancel", unless you want to pause.
  5. The account page with your status should read, "Your subscription will be canceled," and a cancellation confirmation will be sent to your email address.

You will continue to access Hulu until your current billing cycle ends. However, if you have signed up for the Hulu + Live TV free trial, the subscription will end immediately upon cancellation.

If you are billed through a third party, refer to their cancellation procedure.

Hulu recommends contacting their customer service if you are having difficulty canceling.

How to Delete Hulu Account?

Consumers often ask if it is possible to delete Hulu accounts. While the official website does not provide straightforward information on how to delete Hulu account, it does offer the option of deleting some or all profiles associated with your account.  Deleting profiles is final and clears associated watch history and profile preferences.

How Many People Can Watch Hulu at Once?

If you want to watch Hulu with other family members or friends, you can do it. However, the number of people who can watch Hulu at once depends on the subscription plan you've chosen.

If you are subscribed to a standard Hulu plan, you can stream simultaneously on two devices. If you try streaming from more devices, you may encounter an error message on that particular screen.

If you're a Live TV subscriber needing more than two screens, you can consider the Unlimited Screens Add-on. This option allows streaming on all home network devices simultaneously or three mobile devices when you are on the go.
