How Does Lyft Work?

The Lyft app is a ride-hailing mobile service that connects passengers to drivers. Both passengers and drivers have to sign up for Lyft membership to be able to use the app.

According to the Lyft Help page, once signed up, passengers can request Lyft ride by specifying their pick-up location and destination. Upon setting up their Lyft account, drivers can be matched with passengers nearby. The Lyft app has a GPS feature that locates active drivers and matches them up with passengers nearby.

Once a driver accepts a request, the passenger receives information about the driver, the estimated arrival time, and the Lyft price for the ride. Upon arrival at the destination, the appropriate amount is deducted from the passenger’s payment method linked to their Lyft account. The app has a two-way rating system whereby the rider and driver can rate and provide feedback to each other after the ride.

What Is Lyft Pink?

Lyft also offers a Lyft Pink All Access plan. The membership provides all of the Lyft Pink benefits and the following additional benefits:

When I purchased lyft cash to help me get my kid to school in the morning it did not state anywhere on their app or website that Lyft Cash cannot be uses if using Lyft Pink.
